Orb of Eternal Drop

Eternal Orbs are a currency item that create an imprint of an item for later restoration. They can't be used on Fractured items. GGG disabled them game-wide seven years ago as they were far too powerful, but they have returned for the Ruthless league.

These can reroll the explicit (as opposed to implicit) modifiers of an item, most often used on uniques. They are extremely expensive, but can be very valuable if you get an exceptionally high or perfectly rolled rare item.

These can be used to fill Delirium Rewards at twice the normal rate. This will make it very fast to reach the highest possible value. It is generally used during the midgame or late-game as you approach endgame. It can also be sold to vendors for a good amount of GCP.

Orb of Chaos

Unlike the other currency items in this list, this is the most common in-game item. It is essentially the "gold standard" of currency in the player-driven economy and the "dollars" of PoE.

It rerolls the modifiers on a rare item, ranging from prefixes to suffixes and adding a random affix. This is the most valuable of all the Orbs in-game, as it can substantially increase the value of your equipment. Using this orb can reroll the item's affixes, as well as the number of sockets it has (up to 6). The more sockets an item has, the more support gems you can place in it and thus its overall damage output. These are often used to upgrade a lower-tier weapon or piece of armor into a higher tier item that can be traded for more Orbs.
